RESEARCH
GENERATION HARMONIQUE intends to put musicological research at the service of its musical creation, particularly with regard to works, organology, playing techniques and arrangements.
Unpublished musical scores
Through its programming at Le Concert Spirituel, GENERATION HARMONIQUE brings to light rare and previously unpublished works, as well as forgotten composers. Juxtaposing these works with timeless masterpieces by more well-known composers allows them to rediscover their original context.
Organology
The use of historical instruments (restored or facsimile antique instruments) lends a new modernity to works of the past. Scientific organological research is an important aspect of GENERATION HARMONIQUE 's work and is carried out in collaboration with artisans specializing in historical instrument making. This meticulous work on the instruments is coupled with a reflection on the implementation of traditional craftsmanship.
Restored techniques
GENERATION HARMONIQUE is particularly committed to restoring historical instrumental techniques and relies on original sources as precisely as possible, making this research a new laboratory.
Arrangement on stage
Theoretical and iconographic sources inform us about how 18th-century musicians positioned themselves on stage. This is a dimension that remains relatively unexplored in historically informed practices and has the potential to revitalize the sonic and visual experience of the concert.
